HR documentation

Properly drafted documentation sets out what an employee can expect from his or her employer.

When thinking of documentation most people would only think think of drafting a contract of employment, but there is so much more to consider than that.

What should be on done if an employee raises a grievance, how should sickness absence be dealt with? How should poor performance be addressed? How will concerns regarding conduct be tackled?

All of these questions, and many others, can be answered by having polies and procedures which explain what will happen and the steps involved. Such documentation can serve to reassure employees that they will be treated fairly as any action taken should be in accordance with the policy.

A greviance procedure

A disciplinary procedure

A Capability procedure
